Valentines, Monthly Vocabulary Word Cards, and Opinion Writing.

I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how happy I am to write this post.  Because.....

I just went back to school this week. I have been out for a month.

I had an injury.

I was running in front of a speeding train to save the life of a young child who fell on the tracks and got her shoelace caught in the rails, when the train nicked me in the leg as it whizzed by.

Just kidding....

Truth is,I fell and hit my head on the street while walking the dog and gave myself a concussion.  True story. I'm sure it looked quite graceful. Don't ever get a concussion. It has not been pleasant.

The upside is I watched A Lot of Netflix.  A Lot.  As in 3 seasons of

which was unbelievably good. I highly recommend it. I also watched all 5 seasons of

which was also fantastic.

So anywhoose...

I did manage to be a productive member of society this week and I'm linking up with Doodlebugs Teaching to share my Five for Friday.

"Tickled pink" mason jar filled with pink themed items such as nailpolish, nail file, gum, tic-tacs, candy, and lip glos. Great gift idea!

I found this super cute project on Pinterest here and I made a few of them for my son's teachers.

I made these Valentine's for my students this year.

We have been reviewing opinion writing so this week we wrote our opinion on which we liked best: indoor or outdoor recess.

I was psyched to find this thread spool thingie (I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it's called) at JoAnn Fabric's this week. I now have the perfect way to neatly store all my "brag tags" in one spot that doesn't take up a ton of room.

I uploaded a new product this week that I needed for my classroom.  I added this monthly vocabulary word list to my writing center to help my young writers.

Monthly Vocabulary cards for your writing center or for your ELL students. Easily indentifiable key words and pictures. Two charts/word cards per month.

  2. I'm so glad you're feeling better Julie! That's so scary what happened, I can totally see that happening to me while I'm out with Roger! When he pulls to go chase a bird/squirrel/garbage bag/fleck of dust, I'm at his mercy. Your vocabulary cards look adorable! I hope you're enjoying your weekend.
