About

Hi there! I'm so glad you stopped by my little blog.

I'm Julie and I teach first grade in Massachusetts.  I've been teaching for 24 years. This is my fifth year teaching first grade and I love, love, love it!  Before teaching first, I taught kindergarten in a private school.  My dream was always to teach in a public school. So, lucky me....I'm livin' the dream. I am grateful every day for my career.  It is as much of a hobby to me as it is my job.  I can't imagine ever doing anything else.  Except maybe being Matthew Mcconaughey's personal assistant.

I'm also lucky enough to be married to my best friend. Kriss and I were married in St. Lucia in 2011. Kriss is a very talented architect.  If you have ever been to the Venetian in Las Vegas then you have seen his work. Kriss is now a clipart seller on Teacher's Pay Teachers (and still doing his architectural career). You can find him on TpT here. I guess I'm a little bit proud of him.

Together we have 3 boys and they sure keep us on our toes!

We took this picture because they were actually getting along for a moment and we wanted to remember this moment.  They are typical siblings-they love being together one minute and the next....well....you know how that goes. I can also tell you that my house is almost always loud, my dishwasher is always full, there is laundry in the dryer that I often "forget" to take out and fold and put away and the oven is almost always heating up a frozen meal of some kind. There's rarely a dull moment, that's for sure!

Because I must be nuts and life isn't quite busy enough....we also have 2 cats. I'm not a big cat fan, I'm more of a dog lovin' kinda gal.  It took me a few years to convince Kriss get a dog and our lives drastically changed when this guy came into our lives.

This is Bentley. He's a beagle/basset mix that we rescued in May of 2014.  He is the light of my life and I love this doggie to bits!  He is spoiled and I'm not ashamed to admit it. He is my shadow. He follows me everywhere!  He's finally not crying and howling when I leave for school in the morning anymore but he does his share of whimpering when I get home.  I don't know who is more happy to be back together again when I get home-him or I.

I am so happy to be on this journey. I have made so many dear friends along the way and I have learned so much.

Teaching is the best job on earth.  After all, in what other profession will you be told you are the best singer, dancer, drawer, writer, reader, nurse, cutter, gluer, glitter sprinkler, psychologist, scientist, mathematician....................?

Here's to the kids who makes us laugh, who make us cry, who push us to our limits and who set us free.

Happy Teaching,
Julie
