High/ Low Linky Party

I am so excited to be featuring the very first High/Low Linky Party.  This is a weekly party every Saturday, in which we will share our highs and lows of the week.  There is no set number of how many highs or lows you should share-just write.  Since many of us are still home for the summer your high's/low's may be more personal in nature until school starts.  That's great!  We'd love to learn more about you! I find that the best blog posts are those that in which we "step out" a little and share ourselves. So.....without further ado, I'll begin!

I love, love, love shopping for my classroom.  It's like an addiction hobby.  Let me show you what I got because I'm sooo excited and I'll also let you know how much I paid for things (if you don't tell my husband).

lamp- Target $15. I love plants, picture frames and natural lighting in the classroom.  It makes it feel more "homey."

Stools- Ikea $7.99 each, Basket- TJMAXX $10.  I am going to use the basket to store clipboards in.  The stools will go in my reading area.

Chairs- Christmas Tree Shops $6.99 each.  I like them because they fold up and we aren't really supposed to have outside furniture in our new classroom.
Buckets-Christmas Tree Shops $4.  I will use those to store pillows for reading time.

Scentos markers $1 each, chalk $3, washi tape $5, clothespins with labels $6- Michael's craft store.  Awards and bucket- Dollar Tree Store- $1 each.

Artificial tree-$15 Michael's Craft Store. It was on sale -50% off so I just had to.  You know that feeling, right?

Behavior Management Chart $21.99, word family cubes $12.99, name tags $4.24- Lakeshore Learning Store
My classroom decor theme is Preppy Nautical from Schoolgirl Style . I paid $35 for all the printables including binder covers, pennants, banners, word wall letters (pictured here), table signs (pictured here in the small blue plastic frames which were $1 from Michael's craft store), pictures (the large frames were from the dollar store), nametags, labels, stationary and so much more!
So this is what my home office looks like now and I don't go back to school until the end of August!  Lord, help me! I think I need an intervention!  I'm sure you all spend just as much on your classroom.  Right?  Right?  Please say right?!! I'm trying to convince my hubby today that I need to go to Hobby Lobby which is 45 minutes away.  Wish me luck!

I came back from the Teachers Pay Teachers conference in Las Vegas loaded with ideas.  One of them was to download Adobe Pro on our computer.  Have anyone of you done this before?  Whoa!  It's not a walk in the park, I tell ya!

This was the "low" this week.  My husband is the calmest man on the planet (that's why he is my husband because well- let's just say, I am not the calmest all the time) and I heard some swearing going on.  Lots and loots of swearing.  Seriously, the Adobe Pro registration was hell! But, I love it!  I love what I can do with it and I'm so happy we got it.  I think Kriss is just happy it's over!

I'd love to hear what your highs and lows have been this week! Join us and link up!  If you have never linked up before it's super easy.  Just right click on the high/low image at the top of this blog post and save it somewhere on your computer.  Write your blog post (feel free to save the arrows and use them if you would like).  Make sure to link back to me by forming a clickable link to this post.  You can do that by clicking on my title for this post, and copying the address in the browser window.  Then click "link button in the top of your tool bar and write the name of my blog in the first box and paste the web address for this post in the second box.  Come back to my blog and click the "add link up" button at the bottom of this post.  Go back to your blog, click on the title of your blog post and copy the address in your browser window.  Then go back to the page you got when you clicked on the "add link up" button and add that address.  Add a picture, image or your blog button and click submit.  Done!  Easy, peezy, right?

I can't wait to hear from you!  Let's get this party started!

  3. Thanks for this Linky! I'll try to get a post together before the night is over. I have a question. I've heard of other people mentioning getting Adobe Pro but I'm not sure why. What is the advantages of having it?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi there! Thanks so much for linking up! Adobe Pro can secure images so that no one can copy your work or any clipart in your products. Also, if you work in PowerPoint, Adobe Pro will save each slide as a JPEG so that you can make a picture collage in Picassa for page previews. If you follow my blog I will be posting about how to do that in the very near future. You can probably do a hundred other things with Adobe Pro but I just haven't figure them all out yet. :)
